I travelled with Phil to Taiwan with the aim of observing the local wild banana species. It was a very enjoyable trip that took us down the west coast all the way to the most southern tip and back up part way on the east side and over to Lanyu island. Phil knows the areas really well and is extremely knowledgeable on the plants. He took me to places I would have never ventured to on my own. At the same time he used the opportunity to show me a few tourist sights on the way, such as the most southern tip of the island, a hot geyser and a protected beach that consisted of ground up sea shells instead of sand. He also gave me the opportunity to snorkel in one of the most amazing rocky underwater areas I have ever been to. Phil is easy to travel with and I enjoyed the trip very much.
